Okay, so what's the deal with the flag on the American Army uniforms? I was under the impression that in order to be "properly displayed," the stars on the flag should be in the upper left corner... So, why are the flags on all the uniforms I see sewn on backward??

Elexina, I think the flag can be worn either way...right or left. If you check this link and scroll down to the proper way to wear flag patch on shoulder sleeve, it may help answer your question.

There are two separate flag patches in the United States military’s inventory: the normal U.S. flag replica that is worn on the left sleeve, and what is referred to as the "reversed field" flag patch, which is worn on the right sleeve.

The "reversed field" is used on the right sleeve so it looks as though the flag is blowing in the wind caused by forward movement.

On vehicles, the flag decal has the union (the blue area with the stars) on the side closer to the front. On the left side of a vehicle, the decal shows the flag with the union at the left, as usual. On the right side of a vehicle, the union is on the right.
