As Alan said, the video, by the Islamic Jihad Army, showed an attack on a convoy, with a burned body resulting. The audio openly recruited Muslims to wage a Jihad and kill all the American aggressors and her allies, anywhere, anytime. I assume that it was meant as a warning.

Most posters in these forums know my position on this war. Having said that, I want to add that, for the most part, I am all for an "equal time" concept for dialogue. A frank discussion of positions is healthy, and, in my opinion, necessary to fully understand issues. (The West certainly would be better off if it understood the terrorists' motivations, and any Jihadists would be better served by knowing that threats such as theirs only prolong the war and increase deaths on all sides.) However, videos showing death and calls to kill are neither acceptable on AnswerPool nor are they productive in arriving at any reasonable conclusion in a discussion. Hate speech, be it against Americans, Arabs, Muslims, French, Christians, Jews, Israelis, or any other group, is simply not allowed here. It is not acceptable nor is it conducive to rational discussion.
I know that Alan's intent was not to promote hate, that he simply forgot that portion of the rules that bar things like this. (I have forgotten some myself at times.) Alan was simply raising an issue for discussion in an area that needs a great deal of discussion. We may discuss the events without linking to them, just as we may disagree with each other without calling for the deaths of those with whom we disagree.
