There were deadline dates posted on the local news for sending holiday mail to the soldiers. Different kinds of mail had different dates. Anyway, there were two kinds of mail that I didn't understand, and was wondering if anyone else knows. I knew PP meant Parcel Post, but what do SAM mail and PAL mail mean?

Space Available Mail (SAM)
Parcel Airlift Mail (PAL)

Thanks Angela. The link explains it all. Probably a lot of people sending mail don't even know this.

I would also like to add that my husband spent 3 mths in Kuwait from Feb til may and even then it too about 2 1/2 weeks for him to recieve a small package so I would like for anyone intending on sending a package to know how long the process is.And I will assume it will take much longer with the holiday season upon us.
