Yeah -"Young Frankenstein" is good! I love both the "Airplane!" movies! And "Loaded Weapon"! Big Grin
07-27-03, 03:29 AM DorianGreyed
The first one I thought of was Start the Revolution Without Me. Others include the above mentioned Young Frankenstein, Sleeper, as well as Bananas, Love and Death , and The Producers. (Yes, I like my comedy subtle.) Prizzi's Honor has stood the test of time as well.
07-27-03, 03:44 AM DorianGreyed What a Dork ! I forgot Animal House !
07-27-03, 09:03 AM gizmogram Big Grin Just about anything by Mel Brooks, with Blazing Saddles at the top!
Also, Murder By Death will always be one of my favorites.
07-27-03, 09:47 AM Kelleygirl OMG, Gizmo, you're right! How could we leave out "Blazing Saddles?" Also would like to add "Airplane" and "Airplane2"--goofy but funny.
07-27-03, 11:15 AM Yelena Clerks by Kevin Smith was an incredible movie. I had to watch it 4 times over when I first rented it because the first few times I was laughing so hard I missed most of the jokes, that relentlessly dropped like bombs, right after each other, each one as halarious as the one before. I honestly do not have the words to describe how funny this movie is. Eek
I recommend this movie to everyone, unless you don't like cursing, profanity, vulgar language and tasteless hunor. No wait, I dont recommend this movie to any of you here, I know you all too well. Razz
Also, the jokes from Rat Race and Oscar will always remain refreshing and funny.
07-27-03, 01:27 PM Sherasi I know this wasn't a majorly popular film, but I really enjoyed Oscar with a fairly large star cast line-up.
I also liked Victor/Victoria.
I liked them well enough, that I bought the DVD's of them. Big Grin
07-28-03, 02:33 PM gojenni714 Rat Race was okay, but not near as funny as it's original, It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World.
My favorite funnies have got to be:
Money Pit (probably my most favorite comedy! Always makes me laugh!) The Three Amigos Ace Ventura (the 1st one only!) Bird on a Wire
I can't believe no one has said these:
National Lampoon's Vacation & Christmas Vacation
Pillow Talk Undercover Blues and The Whole Nine Yards
Those are some of my favorites! I could list many, many more!! Big Grin
07-31-03, 01:31 PM Jane Doe I really liked the movie "Arthur." I've seen it about 3 times, but haven't seen it recently. (I hope I still think it's funny after all these years.) I agree that Airplane was really funny. By the way, I saw "Pirates of the Carribean" last weekend. That movie was just pure pleasure. What fun! We planned to see "Spykids 3-D Game Over," but it was sold out.
08-04-03, 08:38 PM jusork Orange Country(not your average one of these kind of movies), Zoolander, Heartbreakers(I watched it with my brother and didn't expect it to be as funny as it was), Evolution, Dude Where's My Car, Happy Texas and Super Troopers. Truly funny stuff.
08-05-03, 10:00 AM niccincoogol Weird, but I was laughing my arse off all the way through Terminator 3 - I seriously think it was supposed to more of a comedy than anything else. Others:
The Party Man Bites Dog Dumb and Dumber The Dinner Club Spinal Tap Best in Show The Blues Brothers
08-05-03, 10:16 AM Georgia85 I found "Best in Show" to be rather dull...but I love "Dumb and Dumber"!
my favorite comedies are The Birdcage Mrs. Doubtfire In & Out To Wong Foo Thanks for Everything Julie Newmar to name a few...
hmmm...am I seeing a trend here?
well let's break it! I also like Romy and Michelle's Highschool Reunion
08-05-03, 01:41 PM mattlynda the gods must be crazy (both 1&2) monty python and the holy grail (ok, any monty python, but the grail is my favorite) leonard part 6
08-07-03, 05:11 PM esencia It seems Ms. Georgia Peach and I share the same taste in movies Smile Well, except I have yet to see In & Out. Is that the one with Tom Sellick, Kevin Kline & Ms. Joan Cusack??
Some of my favorites are...Besides the ones Georgia already mentioned...
Murder By Death Black Sheep Tommy Boy Can't Buy Me Love American Pie2 How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days The Secret of My Suce$s
I am too tired to think of more...
Murder By Death is a great one if you've never seen it before. I highly recommend it. It is one of those that is so stupid it's hilarious! Smile
08-08-03, 01:55 PM stampeding turtles The cult classic "The Three Amigos" with Steve Martin and Martin Short dancing "My Little Buttercup" is hard to beat. But I think "A Christmas Story", and the spoof "Rocky Horror" needs to be included in the top. Also, "Galaxy Quest" deserved a better reception, as the aliens are truly hilarious in that movie! "Harold and Maude" is without question one of my favorites.
08-08-03, 02:12 PM Georgia85 Yes it is Esencia! You must rent it. There is a scene with Kevin Kline when he puts a cassette in the tape deck...to learn how to be more "manly" and then....
Oh, my! Just rent it! Big Grin
08-12-03, 02:26 PM sid1114 Midnight Run The Court Jester All of Me Planes, Trains, and Automobiles Bringing Up Baby Big The Goldrush Never Give a Sucker an Even Break
08-18-03, 02:23 AM mattlynda Funniest movies ever!! speaking of galaxy quest, it has one of my favorite scenes in it. the black character, wearing a red shirt, with no last name, freaking out because he KNOWS hes going to die. Big Grin
08-31-03, 04:56 PM cap'n kane House Sitter: Goldie Hawn/ Steve Martin. I still cringe when I think of Steve Martin singing Ta Lu Ra to his dad OMG!!! It's so embarrassing Smile

Me, Myself, and Irene
09-11-03, 12:12 PM Kwll Happy Gilmore Monty Python and the Holy Grail The Pink Panther
10-18-03, 03:58 AM Cyndiluwho_99 One of my favorites is The Villian, with Kirk Douglas playing the bad guy in the black hat. Arnold Swartzenegger playing the good guy in the white hat, named Hansome Stranger...He's escorting the lovely and lusty Charmin Jones (Ann Marget) to another town. It plays like a Roadrunner/Coyote cartoon, right down to the painted tunnel on the rock.
I first saw this the day I brought my firstborn child home from the hospital. My mother finally made me turn it off, I was laughing so hard, she feared for my stitches.
Also Young Frankenstein kills me, especially when the "monster" sings Puttin On The Ritz.
10-18-03, 10:54 AM DorianGreyed Not to everyone's taste, but one of my favorites is the Oscar-nominated "Men In Black" (1934). A spoof of the long running play and the movie "Men in White", this film shows the origin of Curly's now famous "Woo woo woo woo woo."
"Calling Dr. Howard, Dr. Fine, Dr. Howard"
10-18-03, 01:55 PM dogspit Some of my fave comedies :
Short Circuit Stripes Animal House Blues Brothers Weird Science Cat Ballou Switch Paper Moon Trading Places What's Up Doc? Arsenic and Old Lace The Out of Towners (Jack Lemmon) Doc Hollywood Beetlejuice City Slickers Stay Tuned Shrimp on the Barbie The Bad News Bears Ferris Bueller's Day Off Home Alone L.A. 12-04-03, 05:16 PM cap'n kane Seeing Jagged Edge's post reminded me of "There's something about Mary" I totally agree it's hilarious.
"Anger Management" has it's moments too.
12-04-03, 09:49 PM puppyblues Oh, I have yet to see Anger Management. I can't wait. That and Bruce Almighty. Anyone seen that one yet??? I'm anxious for to see those.
