The Canadiens have won the Stanley Cup 24 times since their inception in 1909. Montreal could have won another, in the early 1900's but did not due to something specific, what it is?

If they were the Montreal Wanderers, they would have won in several times from 01 to 08. But if they were the Montreal AAA team, which I think they were, they would have only won it once, as you say, in the 01-02 season. but they should take some satisfaction knowing that they (the AAAs) won it first, in 1893.

Dorian, what I meant was "after" their inception in 1909( not prior to) but still early in 20th century.
