British Banks Barclays and HSBC have Both posted Profits in spite of the Credit crunch racking up £ 6 billion in Profits (Big bonuses for Bosses) Mad
Whereas Other Banks have posted or are expected to Post massive Losses of the same Magnitude! Confused

Story Link Here

Reason the Latter have all been bailed out or "Merged" by the Government
I got my "interest" on a Stocks and Shares account ,and it had slipped back for the first time since I opened it and They had the cheek to include a leaflet telling me "Buy while you can?" Question: While the Markets depressed? I'm Not that Naive! And B) Have No money to invest Roll Eyes

Now,we wait to see what the Overseas Banks post(on their Profits) and Stockmarkets reaction later this week

Even outsiders can tell that the Daily Record, a Scottish tabloid, is not the Financial Times. Roll Eyes It says [see link] that 'selfish HSBC' has announced an increase in performance related pay. Well now, there's a surprise. A bank makes profits and pays its workers in the sector where, according to the paper, it made the profits, increased performance related pay Big Grin No wonder that the Record boasts that it's 'best for sport'.

HSBC and Barclays were always going to avoid disaster. They are both enormous and worldwide, with only a small part of their business in the area where the trouble was.
