Posted I remember reading in a credit repair book a couple of years ago that after a period of years which I think is 7 years a business can not seek payment as there is a time limitor something like that. For example my client was unable to pay on a credit card and her last contact or last charge/Paid date was 9-29-94. A lawyer's office has sent her a letter saying they have been retained to collect from her the debt. Can anyone clarify this?

coldfuse Diamond Enthusiast	Posted Hide Post If the debt is unpaid, it is still owed. The question becomes whether it is legally collectible or not! Statutes of limitations vary on this from state to state. You or your client may wish to contact an attorney to discover the details for this specific debt in (I assume) Tennessee.
