Which am I better off taking? Pay them now or pay them later. Take the interest off taxes later, etc. Any financial experts out there to provide some guidance?

Are you wondering if you should pay points to get the lower rate? It really depends on how long you plan on staying in your home. You need to calculate how much you will be paying over the entire term of the loan. Calculate the cost with and without points. Interest paid can always be taken off your taxes. Keep in mind that is is better to pay closing costs or points up front. If you roll the cost into your mortgage then you will be paying interest on that amount for the duration of your loan.
(You will be paying 30 years interest on that money) Take the hit now instead of later. Big Grin

Check out this site. It will show you the bottom the line. Smile

Sounds reasonable to me. Not much experience in buying homes - have only bought one ever and that was 27+ years ago. Thanks for the advice Smile
