I find it odd that there are more cameras and recording devices than ever in scary places as there are more and more shows that either document such places or put people in these places to do stuff- and still nothing has been caught on tape.

I am appalled at the idiocy of most of these shows- walking around in old, drafty buildings and being SURE that noises (that don't get caught on the tapes) and cold spots are evidence of paranormal phenomena.

I have no idea of ghosts can or do exist or not- but this sort of 'modern day haunted house ride' needs to be better identified for what it is- exploitation of human fear for entertainment.

sometimes things only appear to certain people.
there are a multitude of reasons that sometimes we don't hear the things or see things in cameras or recordings. it's not to say to just discard the fact that something does not excist simply because we personally don't see, hear or feel it. I've always believed in ghosts and it only confirmed their excistence to me when I experienced the supernatural on multiple ocassions.
I've never seen aliens before, but I still believe they are around. Would I like to see one, well I can't say yes or no, because either people will believe you, or think your crazy.
Do the people on those programs actually hear or see those things that they claim? Well thats between them and the thing they saw or heard and is up to you whether you believe it or not. Some people have to see it to believe it.

As an amatuer magician, I know that 'seeing is believing' is both a truism, and a great tool for fooling people. Personally, I don't trust eyewitnesses unless they are observing a phenomena they already understand.

Too many 'big cat' sightings in England are mis-seen housecats. UFOs viewed by dozens of people have been easily proven to have been a planet or plane (such as the famous Catalina film- which resolves as a plane when cleaned up a bit.)

I don't care how many people that expect to see a ghost see a ghost. That proves a lot about psychology, but nothing about the paranormal.

I'm not asking for the same kind of evidence I would want for a UFO or Bigfoot, but I'd think that after all this time, and all these recording devices, anbd all this other investigation, we'd have SOMETHING to show by now!

it was on a show called 'Ghosts: Caught On Tape' on the Canadian Space Channel. Two people went to a haunted house with a still camera and caught an image of a glowing golden lady and two images of a glowing pink lady. When put through the computer and the colours changed, so did the shades, the pink ladys face looked exactly like a skull. Since then the house has been demolished, and is now a cornfield but its extremely scary.
In a bungalow the people who lived there kept hearing noises from the attic and saw a reddish liquid leaking from everywhere. Some ghost experts and chasers came to investigate and they were attacked when they investigated the attic which was were the noises came from. A still photo image was caught of this attack, one of the storm chasers had some string around his neck attached to a nail. To all appearences he was being strangled. I can name many more but will leave it at this...for the moment.

Sorry I have not checked before this!

Pictures and movies are a unique form of 'proof' that are have been used for centuries to fool people- consider the great 'fairies' hoax that tripped up Sir Conan Doyle.

I am also a bit suspicious of these 'expose' movies- "Blair Witch Project" was also made into a 'documentary' that was released on the SciFi Channel and fooled many people into thinking the thing was real. 'Alien Autopsy' and others titilate and confuse the line between documentary, media event, and outright hoax.

(I am also aware that I am taking both sides of the 'film as proof' issue, but I just wanted to point out that it is all-too-often not a reliable witness.)

This DOES NOT mean I am dismissing the photos and film you mention- I have never heard of this incident before. Is there a web link to it?

Matiqua, i think i saw that show. I definately remember the part where the guy was hanging. Freaky!

Anyway, i personally believe in ghosts. Everyone wants proof that ghosts are real. Well i say, prove ghosts don't exist and i'll stop believing they do.
If you don't know what shows to believe and which shows to be skeptic about, I'd have to say that if it's on the Learning Channel or the Discovery Channel, you can bet it's probably true.
If you want to see shows about ghosts and haunted houses, Halloween is the best time to watch tv cuz there's always shows about that kind of stuff on.
