07-18-02, 09:31 PM DorianGreyed Obviously, there are more than one answers here. Information below from Wikipedia -
The artiodactyls fall into two groups which, despite underlying similarities, are rather different. The Suina (pigs, hippos, and peccaries) retain four toes, have simpler molars, short legs, and their canine teeth are often enlarged to form tusks. In general, they are omnivores and have a simple stomach (the two hippopotamus species and the babirusa are exceptions)
Hippopotami have more in common with whales than they do with other artiodactyls (even-toed ungulates), such as pigs.
Most hippos that look as though they are floating are standing or lying on the bottom. They come on to land to feed, mostly at night, consuming as much as 50 kg (110 lb) of vegetation per day. They have been known to occasionally scavenge meat from animals found near their range, but hippos are not significantly carnivorous.
Peccaries use their tusks for defense; they feed chiefly on roots and grasses but also eat invertebrates and small vertebrates.

07-18-02, 10:32 PM K.K. My father used to raise pigs when I was little and he says they will eat anything except onions. They ate his ring of keys once and it took a few days to "find" them.

07-19-02, 01:14 PM babthrower Hey, pigs eat farmers! True. There have been a couple of cases, one in which an elderly farmer had a heart attack and died while working in the pig yard. Guess what? When they found him a couple of days later.... well, there was enough left to show he's died of a heart attack, anyway.
