You're correct!

The 1931 Harbach-Kern Broadway musical ''The Cat and the Fiddle'' starred Georges Metaxa and Bettina Hall. The play was a love story between a Rumanian composer of opera and an American female composer who favors jazz. The story was filmed in 1934 with stars Ramon Novarro and Jeanette MacDonald.
