Fuse, does this exact phrase sound familiar? "A cricket an inch long has a chirp that is audible for nearly a mile."
While I am sure that most of what that page states is true, I am also confident that some of the statements are not. I am very leery of any site that says "Fun Facts" "Fun Trivia" or "Kids Trivia."
On another page of "The Brown School" site is this statement: "Despite man's fear and hatred of the wolf, it has not ever been proved that a non-rabid wolf ever attacked a human." This is definitely untrue. Unprovoked attacks of wolves have been recorded for centuries in Eastern Europe, usually in very cold winters. None, however, have been recorded in North America, to my knowledge.
And this, which I have never found in anything but a Trivia site. "Celery has negative calories — it takes more calories to eat and digest a piece of celery than the celery has in it initially."
