I was appreciating a cold beer in a bar by the ocean this afternoon, when that trivia came on the screen, thanks to the weather channel. And you are right Coldfuse, on the -2 F recorded in Tallahassee in 1899. We were a couple of friends taking bets on that one. The woman behind the bar was the closest (she said 8 F) .
