How many of you, given a second chance, would pursue the same career? $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ 09-30-03, 03:59 PM MrsS I am no longer a member of my chosen profession...Radio DJ....but given a chance to do it all over again? In a hot second! Was most fun you can have legally.
09-30-03, 04:01 PM shelster absolutely, no question.
(hospice nurse)
09-30-03, 04:18 PM Georgia85 No way! Who in their right mind would want to end up in the corporate world again. Given a second chance I would do everything I could to get back into the Medical field. That's where my heart truely is Big Grin
09-30-03, 08:27 PM honilov Given a second chance, I think I'd be a singer. I love music to the bone, so I might as well be a part of it.
09-30-03, 09:56 PM Sherasi Georgia, tell me why you can't follow your heart now?
(remember my mom was in college at 40 and so is Sagus now... do not tell ME about being "too old"......)
I think I would do it again... but I have many interests... it would be nice to see what else is out there....
10-01-03, 12:07 AM mattlynda not a chance.
right now my 'chosen career' is disabled person.
i would give that back in a second.
10-01-03, 06:52 AM Cyndiluwho_99 No way.....my "chosen career" was "Wife of Loser". If I could do it again, I'd use the brain I have and go into journalism. I'd love to write a newspaper column. 10-01-03, 08:22 AM
Georgia85 Well Sher it's like this. In order to do it all over again I would need the funds. I have them now but I would have to stop working to concentrate 100 percent on my studies. Thus I would have no income coming in. I don't want to take out a loan, I like to pay upfront.
I actually looked into going to Funeral College a few years ago. I wanted to be an embalmer. But it was not financially feasible and offered no guaranteed employment.
What I always prayed for was for a financially stable and secure husband who would earn an income sufficient enough to allow me to use my money to go to school. Then once I became a doctor we could life quite nicely...especially since I wouldn't have any loans to pay off Big Grin
Age has never been an issue. You are never to old to learn. Sher you know me better than that! Wink
10-02-03, 12:25 AM MommyTimesTwo Well, I started out as "loser". Then i moved up to stay at home mom, which is GREAT!! And once the kids are in school, I'll be an accountant, which probably won't be quite as great but is MUCH better than loser!! So I've only moved UP!
10-02-03, 06:13 AM Jelp01 It would be about the last thing I'd choose. And I'd also tell a certain person who daily told me I'd be a failure at life and would always be a bum, depending on handouts from other people, who told me I'd never hold a job, and was incapable of working, to stick it in their ear, butt out, and shut the h--- up unless they had something constructive to say. And then I'd go into either one of two things I really would have enjoyed as a profession, either meteorology or pharmacy.
Instead, I'm a janitor/stock person in a grocery store.
10-02-03, 07:28 AM Sherasi Jelp, an education is NEVER wasted.. why not pick up some classes? There are grants, loans and lots of financial help out there for non-traditional students... I know....
