The terms "Hip Hop" and "Rap" music are often used interchangeably, although they are not the same, and at my age, I don't dare to describe the difference. While different parts of the country (USA) have different tastes in music, overall, nationwide, Rap has emerged as the most popular amongst the teen and young adult set, and it has been for a number of years, far surpassing Rock, Hard Rock, Heavy Metal, Punk, etc. Originally a music of the Black race, it has spread, like Rock and Roll, to encompass many cultures and races. Eminem is one of the top rappers right now, so whatever style car he owns, that's what young America wants, and that's what the marketers who target this generation will give them. While the more mature adults will choose a car based on a lot of research, the younger ones will go with 'what's cool'. And you can bet that an ad with a sexy model leaning against the car DOES make a difference.

I've never bought a car for the image. When I buy a car I look for price and performance. The idea of a hip-hop car doesn't appeal to me. They would be marketing a generation that doesn't usually buy bran new cars because they're still establishing credit. It doesn't make sense to me. Usually when you get into your mid twenties you start to grow out of rap. They're targeting a small percentage of eligible buyers. It'll fail for sure.
