I performed in my usual sterling fashion and waited until the last minute even though I expect a small refund. I do them myself and ask my CPA friend for advice if I have a sticky question. I hate tax day. Hate it, I say.

Heck, I had totally forgetten it was still tax season. Had mine filed by the first of Feb and got my refund a few weeks later.

Never understood why anyone would wait to the last minute. I get the forms, fill them out and turn right around and mail them back.

I did mine early this year, finishing at 10AM April 15th. That's early for me. Smile I wanted to hang on to that $37.74 I owe as long as I could.

Ditto to what Georgia said, except I use "Telefile". (On the other hand, my boss marked off last Thursday, Friday, Monday and today with "IRS-DO NOT SCHEDULE" because he's working on his taxes. Unbelievable!)

Curtis - I'd be willing to bet your boss is some big wig corporate manager! Guess those who make the big bucks need a lot of time to find all the tax loopholes! Big Grin

I also filed on line and you might be able to help me because I'm really confused. My state seemed to go ok. I did that about two weeks ago because I get a refund. I owed 55 on federal so I hit the botton on the 14th. I never got confirmation it was accepted, but it allowed me to print to form I have to sign and mail in. The money for filing never came out of my account. I was just going to sign the form and mail it with my check, but I'm not sure if the electronic filing even went through. I used TaxAct

My taxes were pretty complicated this year, so we had a CPA do them for us. I mailed them on April 2nd. ...I just thought it was bad karma to mail out tax returns on April 1st, you know?
