Hi Doug

You should buy jewelry based on how your relationship is with this girl. It is a token of your fondness for her.

Serious:
A mitzvah necklace is one of the nicest pieces of jewelry a young couple can wear. There are two halves to the necklace. The woman wears the one half (the one that looks like the pac man) and you would wear the other. It looks like this:

If I can remember correctly, the saying is:
May the Lord watch between me and thee when we are separated one from another. (It is something like that) You can buy these in sterling silver and they aren't very expensive. These are for couples in a committed relationship to one another. A heavy one should cost around $40 since you have to buy one for you too. (You can get them for less if you shop around)

Very good relationship:
A nice silver chain and a charm of something she really loves would be perfect. It should cost you around $20.00.

Bad Relationship and I'm buying her jewelry in hopes to change her mind about me:
If this is the same girl, as before, I would pass on the jewelry. She doesn't deserve it and it won't change her mind. (sorry but I couldn't resist)

You said you wanted to buy this girl jewelry to let her know that you love her. Jewelry won't do that. Jewelry is just the gravy of it all. In a good relationship, any jewelry is appreciated and you can't go wrong. She will love it just because you gave it to her. Smile

Thanks I'll pass on it. I would like to get her a ring. Any more suggestions?

They have small promise rings that would be suitable for "young love".. look in the malls and such. I am sure there are many small nice things to be found in those center booths.

Thanks. I'm close to getting one at a jewerly store just a few min. away. When I buy it, would there be any strings attached like warrinty, payment and such? My affordable price range would be $ 50-75 min is 50. Could I just get it pay the cash and leave? I'm going to look at the store some time this week.

What did you do, Doug? Did you get a ring? Had I been around, I might have made some suggestions... A promise ring might have been nice. They are inexpensive and meaningful. I would have suggested you lower your price. Not all women value the cost of an item over the sentiment it expresses. I love that my husband buys me jewelry, but I would never let him buy me anything expensive. It means more that he took the time to pick out something he knew I'd like. The higher price tag, to me, is pretentious.

You can always make a cash purchase in almost any store.

I have bought a great deal of jewelry (fine jewelry) with cash and was able to take the piece with me at that time.

Is this the same girl you were in love with a month ago or am I confusing you with someone else?? Confused

(just curious because my answer to this question would be different, depending on your answer)

cool u have a girlfriend and u want to show her how much u love her. well my suguestion is to get her something you would think she would like. (caution: this will only work if u have known her long enough) an example: the girl i like is into harry potter and the whole fanitasy thing. so for a gift i got her a box that looks like its big enough to hold quills and ink. what i do is buy stuff that she'll use every day and think of me when she uses it. hope this helps
