My best buddy and all around good girl Space Cadet From Planet Monkey aka Danielle won't ask the guy she likes out or even call him and it's starting to piss me off! She wrote a couple of posts about it, and you guys told her to ask him out, but she won't do it. He's always annoying her in ceramics so he obviously likes her, but she sez she's afraid that we won't be good friends anymore if she has a boyfriend. (right!) Anyway I want her to have a b/f and to be happy, and the first step is asking Robb out. What can I tell her, and can you guys talk her into it? Thanks!

As much as you want her to be happy, this is your friend's decision. If she wants to ask out Robb, then she has to make that choice on her own.

Remember, being supportive is wonderful, but nagging will get annoying after a while.

How do you know the first step to being happy is for her to ask out Robb? This is your idea, and has nothing to do with her! She's already told you why she won't ask him, what part of it are you not understanding? Butt out of her life and get one of your own!

Maybe your friend just isn't ready yet. Give her time to be comfortable. If she does it because she is trying to please her friends, she won't be happy about her decisions.
Leave her alone about it and if/when she feels the time is right, she will take that step. Pushing her will either result in pushing you away and her being unhappy, or her getting herself into something she is not ready for.
Give her time, she'll come around if she really wants too. wink

I always thought that having a boyfriend woud bring me happiness. But was proven wrong. A guy cannot make you happy. He can add to your happiness but not make you happy. If you want your friend to be happy, then she needs to find happiness within herself before she has a boyfriend.

I am sure there is a reason why she hasn't asked him out and if Danielle isn't happy then I am glad she hasn't asked him out yet. Because TRUST ME, having a boyfriend WONT make you happy... you have to be happy with yourself first.

So what does Robb say? Why has he not asked Danielle out? Maybe neither one of them is ready to be an official item. How about trying to arrange something, maybe a matinee, with them and yourself and another guy (you are a girl right?) but just don't call it a double date.
