You mean that there are fewer young teens being born today than since 1946? That is good news!

Excellent news! Whether its due to abstinence or birth control, the end result is the same: no unwanted babies, and no tough decision to make on abortion vs. adoption vs. keeping the child with virtually no hope of proper parenting.

It is not because they are having less sex.

Instead there are people who carry boxes of condoms to clubs, raves and other places where teenagers party and have fun and pass the rubbers out for free.

Then there is another group of people who have been making it possible for the pill to be more readily available, even without parent's consent.

And there there is another group of people who have taken the time to explain why the wages of sex are pregnancy and STD's and give more than The Lecture, but real helpful advise on how to at least play safe.

Usually its really just one group of people, all who have spent a lot of their "free" time in this venture.

I think we owe them a lot of thanks for making a statistical change in the numbers here. But the work is still not done, STD's are still being passed around, HIV and AIDS can only be stomped out by making them not pass any further. A long road still to go, at least we are seeing some small reward for the work already done.
