For those of you who don't know, I am a class officer at school. I've know since I was 10 that my class was an extremely blessed class, and I want to find a way for us to give back. I want to get my class involved in some sort of charity or community service. Does anyone know of where I can find like a list of organizations or charities we may be able to get involved with? Thanx

How about working with the Salvation Army or a local food bank? My daughter says both of those would even count toward community service credits in Florida.

Some very good ones are your local Humane Society, Schools or adult centers for people with developmental disabilities and Red Cross.
You will be very fulfulled by contributing to anyone of these organizations, and I know you'll do a great job! wink

Whatever you choose, the best charities to give to are those in your local area. In New York (and probably in other states), if one donates to a local charity, they can specify what they want that charity to use the donation for.

For example, if you give to your local Humane Society, as puppyblues suggested, you could specify that you want the donation to go towards vaccinating the animals from rabies as opposed to printing donation flyers, advertising, etc.

You could rake leaves and shovel snow for shut-ins.
