The following site describes four Cassowary birds. http://animal.discovery.com/fansites/crochunter/austral...o/16cassowaries.html

According to the descriptions, each of the birds was "born". Is "born" the correct word in the life of a bird? I would think "hatched" would be more approptiate for birds. The female lays the eggs which are incubated for a period of time until the chicks emerge from their shells.

Or is it the thinking that the eggs are born?
