Maybe not. Is this a reference to putting salt on a hen's tail to make the bird run? (When I was a lad there was a brand of table salt called Cerebos. The tin bore a picture of a young boy chasing after a chicken while trying to sprinkle salt on it Smile Roll Eyes)

Here, Fred, it is (was?) said that if you put salt on a bird's tail, you can catch it.

Pharyngula shows photo evidence of the 'quill knobs' on velociraptor's forearm bone, which later evolved into the modern spicy hot wing.

Well, jeese, guys, if you can get close enough to put salt on its tail, you can surely grab the darn bird. Do you know how to tickle a trout? Probably not.

Certainly. Doesn't everyone? Brown trout can be peculiarly dopey ! North American trout may not be so obliging Smile
