Hello everybody. I feel like there is no getting "cured" Perhaps some can be somewhat rehabilitated and refrain, but sadly there are very few. Being the parent of one is very difficult in light of all of the evidence that my child will never be well. Most people have it in their minds that pedohhiles are grown men. This is not true. We discovered my son had been preying on his little sister since the time he was like six. We found out when he was 10 and by then he had a lot more vistims. He has done time with all kinds of sex specific programs and has passed them all, yet continues to engage in high risk behaviurs. He is now only 16, but I have lost hope that he'll ever get better. He seems to prefer little boys now and it is exhausting trying to watch him 24/7!! I wish I could find other parents that are on my side of the equation instead of the other one!! Thanks for listening!! Pounciekitten

Pounciekitten - Welcome to AP!

I'm so sorry you've had to go through this.
Perhaps your family doctor or your clergyman could provide you with the name of a support group nearby for the families of sex offenders. Maybe others with the same experiences could help you find ways to cope; and at least let you know you're not alone.

Here are a couple of groups that may be able to help you:

Families of Sex Offenders Anonymous
152 West Walk
West Haven, CT. 06516
Attn: Carol Sotor/ph: (203) 933-4571
Parents and families of sex offenders many of whom have both perpetrators and victims within the families.

Families of Sex Offenders Anonymous 1-203-931-0015

Good luck and God bless.

The fact that your son was molesting other children at such a young age leads me to believe that HE was molested by someone. Your 6 year old performed sex acts on his sister because this was a learned behavior. I think there is more to this than you may realize.

Excellent sites TIE.

Pounciekitten:

Just a tip. If you start a new thread try to name it with a slightly different title. More than one thread with the exact same name can become confusing and people may think they already posted. Smile

my brother was forced to perform fellacio on somebody when he was around four years old. My parents still dont know and, having thought about this for some time, whoever did this to him mustve been a family member or one of my parents friends because they never let us roam around the neighbourhood or anything. a terrifying thought... Frown

now, my brother has never molested anybody, but it HAS made him sexually confused for the longest time. hes been carrying that burden with him all his life.

this may seem a little ott, but i think clare here might be onto something.

Another form of pedaphilia is when your child has been hypnotised to do something without their or your knowledge and consent, whether it's an act obscene or not.

It involves theta and delta brainwaves. These occur when you are asleep dreaming and daydreaming. Commands/suggestions can be placed into your brain bypassing the conscense mind and accessing the subconscious. It involves brain entrainment.

You could use these methods to stop your son from being a pedophille and even making him forget he ever was one. You should look into it, it definately works.

Good luck.

next time he tries to do it, call the police.
Believe me, when he does time his thoughts will change about things.

Kitten, I can only imagine the pain you are feeling. My teens drive me insane, with horrible behavior, but not to the magnitude you are dealing with.

The problem is, the study of human psychology is at an infancy. This is what a psychiatrist will do to 'help' your son. He will be a screwed up mess, with several different drugs. Docs drug your drugs, with more addicting drugs. It is trial and error, with many different drugs. Adverse reactions to a drug are drugged with another addicting drug.

Given the situation and few options, I say take your son to a psychiatrist that will drug him up, to the point of zombie. There are drugs that interfere with sexual function, but that never stops the desire or behavior. He still has hands!

Your son should be eligible for SSI disability. I can only suggest he be housed in a place for the 'mentally ill' or he will harm another. When he does, the state pen will cage him. Maybe he should be reported to police, if he has committed a crime. Maybe prison is the only answer. I don't know.

What I do know, you need a break. This is well beyond a problem that family can realistically deal with. I know how much you love your son, as I do mine. The thought of your son in a cage is unbearable pain and I know it. Think about what he is doing to your family and maybe has harmed another, but no one pressed charges.

Your choice is a difficult one. It is your obligation, to your family and society, to cage this kid. He needs it. Look into facilities for the mentally ill, who will observe and restrict his behavior, first. If that fails, he will end up in the state pen anyway. It isn't 'if', but 'when'.

Please don't let him harm another. Do not let your son destroy the life of his family, which he is doing. Do not let him harm another, when you know he will, if you don't baby-sit 24/7.

There are only two choices, permanent psychiatric housing, with many drugs or prison.
