Many think marijuana safer than tobacco because it doesn't contain nicotine, but it does contain more tar and cancer causing agents than tobacco.

"Marijuana contains some of the highest cancer causing substances known. It contains carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, acetone, benzene, toluene, vinyl chloride, dimethylnitrosamine, methylethylnitrosamine, benz(a)anthracene, benz(a)pyrene, ammonia, hydrogen cyanide, and many more." (Huber, Gary: Pharm.Biochem.Behavior Vol.40. P.630, 1991.)

According to this website, regular users of marijuana may experience the same problems as tobacco smokers including cough, phlegm, chronic bronchitis, and frequent chest colds. In addition, because marijuana contains toxins and carcinogens marijuana smokers increase their risk of cancer of the head, neck, lungs, and respiratory tract.

No pothead suffers any withdraw or craving, like a cigarette smoker. The last post is completely correct. Look at how weed is smoked. You fire up a bowl or a joint. You take in the smoke and hold your breath, then let it out.

At least a cigarette has a filter. No cigarette somker holds their breath to keep the smoke in. Weed? We are talking no filter and not wasting a hit. It is too expensive. You hold the smoke, until you think you are O2 deprived, and let it out, for a high.

Anyone that thinks weed doesn't offer the exact same health risk is uninformed. Weed offers even more risk, cellular brain death that does not go away, with long term use. That is the reality.

Make your choice.

that is 100% true WildFlower. anybody that says weed is healthier than tobacco is an idiot.
Try just smoking pot for 2 weeks. And then tell me you don't wake up in the morning hacking up green junk in the sink.

Plus you know when you smoke weed, you see that brown and black stuff that resinates.
well ladies and gents, that stuff is also in your lungs.
When was the last time you smoked a cigarette and acumulated that much residue?
Don't get me wrong though I smoke marijuana every single day, and cigarettes. But personally, I think pot could be worse for you. In the long run.
