I don't think autism is "curable", because it's not a disease. It's wiring in the brain that is different than it is in the average population.
However, I do think that with mild forms of autism, it is possible to adapt to the difference so that perceptions and reactions fall within "normal".
For example, I am dyslexic. I was never tested for dyslexia in school or given special help, I was simply taught to read. When I had trouble, I was told to try harder. In the end, I can read as well, if not better, than most people, I just do it differently. I think with mild autism and mild forms of learning disorders, this is possible.
