I seriously forget what I'm doing a lot of the time. I'll be in another room and think of something I need from say, the kitchen, and I'll get there and TOTALLY forget what I was going to get..And there's a LOT of other instances that i just forget things..It even effects school work..I'm leaving for college in August and I'm afraid I'm gonna have trouble keeping up with stuff there..Is there anything I could take to help with that that ACTUALLY works?/ Please help! THanks!

i dont know about all the memory drugs out there, and i dont know if they work,

but i think that things that might work are exercises for the mind.
It is like a muscle, the more you use it, the stronger it becomes, and there are little memory exercises that you can do, especially for school work, that will help you to remember things, like word association, and things like that.

i just found this site for you, i dont know how good it is but it is a start.

Some forgetfulness is normal.

Some forgetfulness - Oh, I already said that wink

Is this a new thing that you have just noticed, or has this been going on for some time and something has caused you to notice it now?

There are many reasons for one to start forgetting things - stress can be a factor, but there are also organic problems that may have no ther symptoms and could lead to further problems down the road.

Before assuming the worse, see a doctor of course. I am utterly amazed at how so few of us rely more on our doctors - Trust me, your doctor knows what questions to ask, and knows what is and isn't good for you to do. They have gone to medical school for, oh geee, I forget how many years 6 or 8, I think.

It could be an attention issue caused by emotional stress, or it could be a brain tumor growing in your head. Since your planning college I would assume it is the stress - but I am not your doctor and I am unable to ask you a zillion and one questions and run tests if needed to determine what ails you.

I hope I pointed out that it could be nothing and I hope I pointed out that it could be something very important to attend too.

See your doctor, its physical time anyways, you need ne once a year no matter your age.

Cheers

David

Ginko and ginseng are good natural memory enhancers. If you have a GNC or nature's pharmacy in your town, you might want to try there.

I'm wondering if maybe you have so much on your mind, that you are in overdrive.
If you're going to college there are thousand of things that need to be done and people to see before you go.
Plus, thinking about all the packing and then getting there; are you in the doorm or off campus? So many changes and adjustments comes with going to college!
So, give yourself a break! Relax, slow down, it'll all get done and once you're there, you'll be fine!
Blessings! smile

I don't know how old you are but unless you're up in your seventies, I doubt you have a serious memory problem. This happens to everybody, to some people quite often. I always have to go back to the place where I started to remember what I'm after. There's an old saying about Alzheimer's Disease: "If you forget where your housekeys are, you're normal. If you forget where your house is, you're in trouble."

You may just be groggy for some reason. Not quite awake. Why don't you start a log, keep track of when this happens to you (how often) and after a month of this, show it to your doctor and ask if you're within normal range.
