I think you may need to see a doctor about what is happening. I wonder if you might have a hormone inbalance, for example an overactive thyroid gland. It's not so much the fact that you haven't slept for so long as the fact that you don't feel tired yet? I wonder what your pulse rate is. If its very fast you may have a metabolic problem. Do get help! The lack of sleep will have an affect on you, even if you are not aware of it personally. I really do wish you luck, and hope that you soon find out what is wrong.

I don't know the medical ramifications, but I really envy you! I could use a few more hours in the day, myself, and I hate the idea of sleeping them away!
Personally, I think being an imsomniac is a gift! You are a shoe-in for being an over-achiever in whatever you choose to do with your extra time.

Hi, I have chronic insomnia too. I usually take those little blue doxolamine succinate tablets that they sell over the counter, but I also take tranquilizers that my doctor gave me to help sleep and for anxiety. You should see a doctor to determine whether the sleep loss is physical or psychological. Eventually the effects will catch up to you and your circadian rythym will be disturbed. Sleep loss can also cause serious problems too, such as hallucinations from lack of Rem sleep, increased sex drive from screwed up hormones, irritability, and abnormal behavior.
