Today is Veteran’s Day, commemorating the armistice that ended the Great War in 1918, which ended on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month. The number eleven is significant. In numerology, it is one of the master numbers that cannot be reduced. The number 11 life path has the connotation of illumination and is associated with spiritual awareness and idealism -particularly regarding humanity. I think that this is significant not only for Veteran’s Day, but also for the attacks that occurred on September 11th, 2001. It was a horrible and unforgivable tragedy, but perhaps there is something to be learned from it as well. Perhaps we can all gain some illumination and awareness from the events that occurred on that 11th day. Perhaps we can improve our own humanity. Perhaps we can gain some understanding of differences and try to treat each other with a little more respect and honor, as we would hope others would treat us.
Anyway, those are my first impressions after having read the November 11th entry by Lily Gardner-Butts in Llewellyn’s “2005 Witches’ Spell-A-Day Almanac.”
Blessed be.
