CapturePad is a video capture utility which allows you to capture any screen activity into standard AVI file, JPG sequence and even into Flash SWF file. Besides that CapturePad works with any video hardware attached to the computer so you can easily grab and save a video from your webcam, tv tuner, etc. I have already had a bit of a play with it and made an avi of opening programmes etc to view as a Win media file and works well ,just have to learn how to slow the frames down.anyway looks a good teaching aid,as well as many other uses,well worth a look and is FREEWARE. Goto Find right next to the Post button. Type in (Capture Pad) without the () of course. The second one is mine. Takes 2 seconds without thumbing through every one.
As for the program it's not very good cuz it doesn't see the capture device on any of my computers and Power Director Pro does so it's no good.

This capturepad program is intriguing. Obviously Bazcaz and ivnj have had different experiences with it. Bazcaz, what is your evaluation of the software?

Dwight, I have only been playing with it for a couple of days but like the AVI function and it works well.....Example: A Friend was having trouble understanding some instructions I was sending him via E-mail(Where to go to insert SMPT settings)so with Capture Pad made a small movie including the Arrow/Cursor movements and sent him that.....as the say a picture is worth a thousand words.
I still have to come to terms with all the options but given time will get there.
You and I seem to do much the same thing. I have used a couple of programs to make very short training videos to capture the steps in doing something. So far, nothing I've tried works very well. I think I will give this one a try.

I gave up on the "Capture Pad" program. I found to too awkward to use effectively.
You can try the "Capture" feature in IrfanView. To open it, open IrfanView and then click on the Options menu --> Capture command.
If you don't have IrfanView on your system you can download it free of charge at: http://www.irfanview.com
When you have downloaded and installed the program file, also download and install the plugins from the same site. I would recommend you just download all of the plugins.
If you already have Irfanview, but not the plugins, you can download them at the same site.
