My friend has a camera that uses 4 AA batteries that are rechargable. We are using one of the charger packs bought at Walmart. Can these batteries be overcharged? They don't ever get fully charged according to the ready light. Do we need a higher quality charger?

Does the picture card use battery power? Would less battery power be used with a 32 card than a 96?

The charger may not be appropriate for the batteries. Rechargeable alkaline, nickel-cadmium (not recommended), nickel metal hydride, and other types, all have different charging requirements. Some more sophisticated chargers can automatically determine the cell type, and adjust the charging rate and time.
