What is an ELPH digitial camera. I'm a camera virgin looking for a pocket sized point and shoot with 10x or 12 x zoom.
Keep seeing the letters "elph" in my search for cameras. No idea what that means. TIA

ELPH is a line of cameras made by Canon, which do tend to be very compact. (I had an Elph LT back when I used Advantix film.)

Doing some quick shopping, I found that the cameras with 10/12X zoom tend to be larger (4"+) than the pocket-size (~3") you're probably looking for. For the 3" form factor, 3X - 5X optical tend to be the most common.

Hope this was helpful!
