I've had a webcam for some time, and it's always worked fine...last week my system got upgraded to Windows XP...and since then, I cannot get my web cam going, no matter what I do. I re-installed it twice, and all I get is a black screen...

I'm trying to use it in Yahoo...and have tried every setting there is under "connection"....hoping I'd find the one that would allow the web cam to work.

Any other ideas?

Hi gizmogram, you could try the
Windows XP Program Compatibility Wizard
"If you are experiencing problems with a program that worked correctly on an earlier version of Windows, this wizard helps you select and test compatibility settings that may fix those problems."
To start the Program Compatibility Wizard, click Start, click Help and Support, click Find compatible hardware and software for Windows XP, and then, under See Also in the navigation pane, click Program Compatibility Wizard.
Just follow the instructions, if that doesn`t fix it visit the webcam manufacturers web site and see if there are XP specific drivers available for download.

Also, you can try updating the Webcam's driver to Windows XP. Go the Webcam manufacturer's site and see if they offer a Windows XP driver download.

Hey! I did go to Veo's website, and yes, they did offer an XP download...tried it, and now I'm up and running again!

Thanks again! Smile
