Pass this on to your AOL 9 contacts taken me several weeks to find
If you have recieved a Logicam webcam (or similar) and you cannot get online with it via the AOL IM program, but could use it elsewhere on other Messaging sites.
No instructions on the AOL Help. Was working on an answer for someone else(resolved) in this area,when I spotted the "block"
So simple ,not sure if it's turned off as default? this is what to do... 10 seconds work..
Click on Safety>Parental Controls click on the screen name to edit .click the "Edit IM Control" taking note if the bar is full or 2/3rds across "Fully" mean the settings are OK If it is showing anything else click the button, then untick the lower box .If the upper box is also ticked you'll still get nothing (untick this too!) press "Save" to finish.
Now to check its working send an IM to yourself. Note the 5 icons to the right of the IM controls all have become "live"
Click the Clapperboard (video) icon (middle) to get a self view only the "send file" icon is available as well, the others are for when you are chatting to somebody else.
Hope this brings you out of the "dark"?
