I am having a problem trying to burn my pictures to a cd. I've checked the troubleshooter, and it says my cd burner is working fine. Could it be the software program?

We are going to need more detailed information about this in order to be of any help to you.

(1) Can you tell us exactly what you're seeing?

(2) Are the image files not being burned to the CD or are they there, but not accessible?

(3) Have you tried using a different program to burn files?

(4) What Operating System are you using?

(5) What program are you using to burn your image files to CD?

We'd like to help out if we can so please let us know what you can about this problem...

I don't see anything, I just get a message to add a recordable cd, but I already have one inserted. I've tried different cds, different brands, but it still doesn't work. It did work for me once when I first got the program, Kodak EasyShare. I am using Windows XP. I've checked my settings, but can't figure out if I've done something wrong, or is it just the cd burner. Thanks for your help.

OK, I understand that you're trying to use the program Kodak EasyShare to write the image files to a CD. I'm not familiar with built in CD-Writing software within Kodak EasyShare. My version doesn't have that capability.

However, Windows XP has a built in CD-Writer application that you can use. Click Here to see a tutorial about using this CD-Writer software.

But, before you go...

Your picture files are just files to the computer. These files are stored somewhere on your computer, or they are in your digital camera. You will need to be able to to navigate to the save location in order to direct the CD-Writer to the files you want to burn. By default, the Kodak EasyShare software saves the original file in:

C:\Program Files\Kodak\Kodak EasyShare software\Originals

If you open that folder, you will see your images files assuming that you've transferred the pictures from your camera to your computer using the Kodak EasyShare software.

Again, these picture files are just files to the computer, so you can choose to make a "data" disk and the images will be burned to the CD.

For easy viewing, I highly recommend the free program "IrfanView". It has a great slide show program, but there is also one built into WinXP, too. If you like, you can get IrfanView at http://www.irfanview.com

I always insert my blank cd into my cd burner, go to My Computer under the Start tab, there should be an M: drive... Open it. Drag the pictures from the folder that you want to burn into this folder. It should have an option make a data cd. good luck

I have been very dissapointed with about every photo program untill now..

I now have Windows Media Player and Microsofts "Plus ! Photo Story" and they are great...You can do slide shows with music or narration, transfer to CD's...
With the combination of the two, that is all you need... Windows Media Player is also for music...
Oh ya,, they're free downloaders.....

i know this is kinda old but here i go. i had the same problem and i got nero now everything is better. but you should be able to do as stated above put the cd in and then open up that cd then just copy and paste or drag those pics over to it. xps stuff is kinda hit and mis.
