I have a digital camera, and lately it's been "eating" batteries. When I put in brand new batteries, they are dying really quickly. Does anyone know what could be wrong with it? And if there is any way to get it fixed? Thanks in advance!

Most digital camera manufacturers suggest that you use rechargeable NiMh batteries. Regular Alkaline batteries will only be good for up to 15 pictures whereas rechargeable NiMh batteries can last up to 8 times that amount.

Like eschwan said, rechargeable batteries are the way to go... In the long run, you will save some good bucks...
The next time you buy another camera tho, make sure it uses a Lithium battery which last a long time between charges...

I use ordinary alkalines and had the same problem. Once I recognized the camera's voracious appetite for power, I've made it a point to keep it turned on just long enough to compose and snap a photo, then turn it off right away. This has done wonders for improving the battery mileage.

I tried switching to rechargable batteries, leaving the camera on just long enough to get a picture, everything. But as soon as I turn the camera on with brand new batteries in it, it shows a low battery sign, and after just 2 pictures it dies. So I finally decided to just buy a new one! But thank you all for the advice!

Are you using Nickle Metal Hydride (NiMh) rechargeable batteries or ordinary Nickle Cadmium (NiCad) rechargeable batteries. The NiCad batteries will NOT last as long as the NiMh ones. The NiCad batteries will last as long as the Alkaline batteries... maybe not even as long.

Like I said above.... Just make sure it does not use regular batteries (AA, AAA, etc)..
Your camera must have an internal short somewhere....
