I am currently working on a problem. I have Digital camera Pentax Optio 50 that is working fine but I can't no longer download the picture in my computer (Windows XP). When I plug the usb wire a box comes up and mentions:

Power surge on Hub Port. A USB device has exceeded the power limits on its hub Port.
For assistance in solving this problem click the message. (after clicking)

A USB device has malfunctionned and exceeded the power limits of its Hub Port, you should disconnect the device.

The location of the device is shown in bold type. Recommendation : To reenable the port disconnect the hardware and click "reset".If you click on "close" the port will no longer function.

I tried to redownload the driver and the software, so far nothing is working. Any ideas anyone?

Are you plugging the camera directly into one of your PC's USB ports, or into an external USB hub?

Sounds like you are overloading the USB Hub. Try plugging the camera directly into an existing USB plug. I have the same problem using my USB Hard Drive & I have to plug in both the auxilliary & main USB plugs from it into my 4 port hub, but if I plug it directly into the computer, I don't have a problem.

Thanx guys, but it doesn't work. I had previously tried every single USB Port on my PC. I even tried to plug the camera without its memory card and without the batteries, same result. I will try with another PC when I have a chance and see if the camera is the problem.
