It's me again!! I'm not sure what happened to my computer but I got a cd burner about a month ago and now my kodak camera is acting up. Everything has been working fine up til now. When I try to plug my usb cord into my computer to transfer my pics from my camera nothing happens. When I reboot my computer I get a message that says something like: Runner file name (Kodak Software Updater.exe) lacks a '-' (the app id separator) What does that mean and how do I fix it? I want to be able to transfer my pics again WAHHH!!

I presume you're running Windows (XP?).

Try this:

Click on Start, All Programs, Startup and right click on the Kodak Easyshare Software shortcut. Select the Properties option.

Ensure that there is an "-h" at the end of the string in the box labeled "Target". Do the same for the Kodak Updater link in the Startup folder as well.

Let me know what you find...

I've just joined the net, and I did what you suggested and I found in the the "target" there is no "h".

I've uninstalled Kodaky Easyshare, and reinstalled, I downloaded a registry cleaner, and still no joy. But, now I can't open Kodak Easyshare at all. I then did a programme restore and you wouldn't believe it that it wont restore, even though I had gone back five days.

Any idea?

I think what Chris F meant in the instructions is to type in the missing -h at the end of the EasyShare properties windows.

But for now, try this:

1: uninstall the software.
2: download and run http://www.kodak.com/go/clear3
3: reinstall the software

If this doesn't work, please post again and we'll try another tactic.

Also, why do you want this particular software? Do you it want it for a particular task? I ask because there are other options (depending upon what you want the software for) to the Kodak EasyShare software if this installation does not work for you.

Hello, I just wanted to let you know that I just happened upon this site and have been trying to get my Kodak software to work for over a month, not to mention my camera could not get recognized. After you recommended cleaning out, it's amazing. Thank you soooo much, as I tried your advice and now (ten minutes later only) am up and running once again.

I was just reading your suggestions because my kodak easy share wasn't working either.

You said to attached a "-h" but on mine I already had a "-hx" and I needed to delete that so the target ended in ".exe"
