I plan to buy (finally joined the electronic world) a digital camera soon to replace my old Nikon film camera. Where do I find out what I need to be able to send my pictures through my e-mail. Thanks.

Johnny Velo, a digital camera makes picture files that you can either "insert" into an email message, or attach to an email message.

Any digital camera that you buy will have this capability.

You can transfer pictures from the camera to your computer in several different ways.

The camera can be connected directly to the computer using a USB (Universal Serial Bus) cable.

Or you can remove the memory card from the camera and put it into a "Card Reader" which is attached to the computer.

Anyway you do it, the pictures come into the computer as files, which you can then view, edit or send via email or upload to a Web page.

This page has a discussion of various digital cameras.

Good luck with this!

Dwight

Hi John....
Just sent you a couple e-mails...When you get your camera , the instructions will make it a lot more clearer...
In the forum by Redder just below yours, read thru it....Might help you out a bit...If you have any questions at all, please ask....
The main thing , is to know what you want to use the camera for...In other words, don't overbuy...Let me know- Don

Hey, Don. Well I decided which camera I wanted, and plan to buy it tomorrow, the day I become sales tax exempt. Yep, turn 65 tomorrow. Officially a senior citizen, so I am going to give my self a nice birthday present. I am going to buy the Olympus 400, with 4.0 mega pixel. Will probably be my last camera I buy, so I'll go out with a bang. Than ks for all the info you posted here. Great help in deciding. Cool

Have fun with it , John. They are nice. But I prefer hard copies myself, so I'm sticking with the old way . Too much goes wrong with my pc. Frown
