Any Louis Armstrong fans out there!? I`m looking for a certain version of "A Kiss to Build a Dream On", but I can`t find it. Are there a lot of versions of this song, or is there only one? It might have just been a special version that I heard one time. I`m just wondering if there was any Albums which contained any special versions of this song. wink

Edit: Sorry, I put this in Blues instead of Jazz! Would this even go under blues?

Sorry I can't help you with your search for a tune by Louie. But anyone who loves Jazz is welcome in the Pool!
When I was just a kid in Cleveland,Ohio I was lucky enough to meet Louie at a meeting of the Cleveland Jazz Club[don't laugh,Art Tatum played there for years]
The club consisted of a great many jazz record collectors who bombarded Louie with many questions about the many recordings Louie Had made. They wanted to know about when the tunes were recorded, who played clarinet or drums or sax or whatever on each record. It was brutal but Louie never lost his cool with any of them and very patiently answered every question he could, even though some of the tunes had been recorded 20 years prior to the meeting. He was a very humble guy ..no wonder so many people loved him.
My dad,who was a very well known jazz record collector, went on a road trip with Louie for about a month into Canada.Jack Teagarden was in the band at the time.I've still got some pictures of Louie,Jack T,and my Mom and Dad taken during that trip.
Welcome aboard! big grin

I don't know what the "certain version" would be, but I do have a 1985 Louis Armstrong cassette titled "Jeepers Creepers." It is # MCAC-20264. Song titles are: "Hello Dolly" / "A Lot Of Livin' To Do" / "Jeepers Creepers" / "A Kiss To Build A Dream On" / "Moon River" / "Be My Life's Companion" / C'est Si Bon" / "I Get Ideas."

The bar code number is 7674-20264-4.
