Yeah, I've heard Soulive! I know I've heard some stuff by them, but I can't remember much about it. I remember it being, I think, like jazz fusion with hints of hip-hop. There are a few musicians who fuse jazz and elements of hip-hop like that. Yeah, I'm listening to their website you gave. It sounds like I remember. It's very jam bandish and fusionish. I'm not sure how much elements of hip-hop are actually involved in their music though. Do you know if they use samples and turntables any? I've always wanted to hear more bands who fuse jazz and hip-hop with more of a balance. It seems like it's either jazz-rap with more rap, or hip-hop influenced jazz with more jazz. I do think I've heard some bands who do something close to that, but I don't think they're as notable as Soulive. Soulive definitely seem to be well-noted for their crossover jazz. I can't think of many other bands siimilar to Soulive who are as well-noted as they are. They're definitely more on the jazz side though. Not that that's bad. I totally agree with your comments. They seem really fresh and unqiue with their jazzy jams. What do you think of jazz-rap, the other side to bands like Soulive?
