Trying to fill in...

b) Bo Diddley
d) Tricky
f) Mary J. Blige
g) Jerry Lee Lewis
i) knowing Curtis, probably Lynyrd Skynyrd!
k) Ozzy Osbourne
q) David Bowie
u) Tammy Wynette
y) Bill Monroe

I think we're still missing "Possum" though I'm guessing about a million bluegrass guys have that on their birth certificates. We're also missing "The Traveling Wilburys of County Music" (or is is country? - no matter, I don't have a clue either way!).

I know Orbison was originally one of the Wilburys. Tom Petty, Bob Dylan, and, I think, George Harrison were also involved. They was another guy, but I don't know who he was. I think they made one CD after Orbison. The group more of less fell apart after Orbison's death. It is really hard to say if they really would have stayed together had he lived.

Wow...nice job! All are correct, except:
b) "The Originator" is not Bo Diddley, but that's a great answer! "Woooooo!" (That's a hint)
i) Skynyrd do rule Wink, but they are not the "Greatest And Best Band on the Planet" (Think, um, Black)
And I'm still looking for:
p) Possum (Hint: his other nickname is "No Show")
z) Should have read "The Traveling Wilburys of Country Music". (Hint: Country "supergroup", like the Wilburys, two of their members have passed away, one very recently)

Okay "No Show" would be George Jones (?)

Greatest Band = Black Sabbath

Saw at least 5 sites that list "The Originator" as Bo Diddley Confused

George Jones, it is!
And I was definitely looking for "Little Richard" as the (self-proclaimed) "Originator"

As for the greatest and best band, think "Jack"

Yep, Tenacious D!
Also, other acceptable answers for "h" were The Who and The Kinks; and Alice Cooper would also have worked for "k."

Thanks to all!

Come on, Curtis, the Beatles don't qualify as one the greatest rock and roll bands for real?

But Tenacious D's is self-titled, Kelley (like the Rolling Stones).

Actually, the record companies of both The Who and The Kinks marketed them as the "World's Greatest...", but we all know the Beatles are the "Best. Band. Ever." Wink

And, fyi, "The Traveling Wilburys of Country Music" are The Highwaymen (Johnny Cash, Kris Kristofferson, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson).
