06-03-05, 10:37 PM DorianGreyed I can't believe I missed getting Dinah Washington.
Listen to Dinah (What a Difference a Day Makes and Unforgetable are my favorites.)
06-04-05, 05:57 PM CurtisLoew Excellent! I was actually looking for Koko Taylor as the (second) Queen of The Blues, but Dinah has been given the title as well (I originally listed three slots for "Queen of the Blues").
So, we're still looking for:
a) The Texas Troubadour (country) b) The Texas Troubadour (singer/songwriter) c) "The best friend a song ever had" h) America's Favorite Folksinger i) King of the Cowboys
06-04-05, 06:10 PM DorianGreyed Unfortunately, I know another. My former mother-in-law was a big fan of his. (This is one of those facts I am ashamed to know, and my jazz-playing son and uncle would kill me if they were aware of the fact that I know this.)
06-04-05, 11:09 PM CurtisLoew Don't worry, DG, Slim's proud of ya, at least. And Kel--you're correct, too, of course.
Still lookin' for those two pesky Troubadors from Texas.... so, I'll give ya a couple of hints. That singer/songwriter guy is NOT related to anyone in Lynyrd Skynyrd, although their last names are pretty similar; and that country guy had (has?) a record shop near the Grand Ol' Opry.
