The closest thing I have to an answer was in an old interview with the group, where a member had claimed that they had forgotten the studio musician's name at the time they were going to release the CD, and so 'she' was merely dubbed 'Violino Mysterioso.' If you know that definitely, I'd really be interested to see the basis.
