What was the 1 word term used over the scam of "paying for playtime" of records to promote them on Radio ?(was on both sides of the Atlantic)
Ps I still think it goes on these days,hidden behind a cloak of bent legality.

This was known as Payola. It was fairly widespread here in the US, with Alan Freed being one of the most notale radio disk jockeys to be brought down.

Mostly a 50's thing, brought to a head in the late 50's, It was pretty much over by the 60's. You decide if it doesn't exist today.
