Has anyone ever used Metabolife to help lose weight? Did you lose weight? Did it help you curb your appetite as you trained yourself to eat smaller meals? Please share your good and bad experiences with this weight loss remedy. I have a couple of friends who swear by it, but I'm skeptical. What's your experience?

Stay Away from it. Products like that contain ingredients that affect your central nervous system and can damage your heart. Someone familiar with botany or medicine can look at the ingredients and tell you what the items are and what they do to your system. For example, this product contains ephedrine, caffeine and aspirin. Aspirin thins the blood, caffeine dilates the vessels, and ephedrine increases heart rate thus stimulating metabolism. Most OTC "quick" weight loss items have these 3 vital ingredients in them - although names may be different. Even products that advertise that they are ephedrine free normally contain a derivative of that product - most commonly bitter orange extract.

Ads look promising, testimonials seem authentic, and photos are too good to be true. That's because they are. Old fashion caloric reduction and increased excercise is the healthy way to go.

I wish you well!

Thanks for the warning Georgia! I saw your photo on Dixiegirl's page, and you certainly are fit, so I know you know what you're talking about. I also read a post where you said you speed walk about 6 mph -- wow! You're an inspiration.

I tried Metabolife awhile back - I ended up with high blood pressure while I was taking it! My normal blood pressure is about 70/100, and when I tried it, my pressure went up drastically! This was after only about a week! I stopped immediately.

I had the same experience. I took it for a while but it didn't do a *** thing for me. The stuff costs, too. I even fooled with Human Growth Hormone - my sister swears by it - but it made me sick. It cost nearly $100. I decided to enjoy my bulk. big grin roll eyes smile
