One of the most frustrating aspects of my weight loss journey is the fact that I am so sick of dieting I can barely keep myself on a REASONABLE level of eating much less following the straight and narrow.

At this point I almost hate food, but I can't stay away from it. I find myself eating food which I don't even like, but I feel compelled to keep eating it. Take sweets for example. Most of the pre-made sweets that exist out there are sickly sweet goods without any real Quality or flavorful Taste. It almost makes me sick, so why am I unable to leave it alone?

I am really reaching the end of my rope. I want to simply start eating reasonably, not even on any kind of a rigid diet. How can I make this work?

I am scheduled to see a Weight Clinic at the Hospital in January, and I am eager to see what they can do to help my efforts make progress.

The carbohydrates in the sweets or other "glamour" foods, stimulates your body chemistry and causes the increased appetite for more of the same. See "Dr. Atkins Diet"... Hang in there Sher!...

KK - So carbs and sweets get you hooked, wanting more?
Talk about a vicious cycle! eek

Sher - I can identify with what you're going through.

In 1991 I lost 75 lbs. on a behavior modification program, very similar to the one you've been on. big grin
I took in 1200 calories a day.
I had energy, never got hungry, and never had cravings. (My nutritional needs were being met.)

After 9 months or so, I began to get hungry and began eating things that were bad for me. frown
I had changed my lifestyle - I went back to work and started college; so I don't know if this changed the balance of my intake/output of calories or what.
I know I let a lot of old bad ways of thinking creep back into my mind too, and that didn't help my self-esteem either. (I had also been in therapy earlier that year.)
Needless to say - the pounds eventually came back - with interest! roll eyes

Anyway - Don't give up!
You've come this far - I know you'll find a way to reach your goal.
Maybe we can help inspire each other! smile

I'm sure you're all tired of hearing me talk about Slim Fast but I've lost enough weight with it to sink the Missouri. Until you get to your desired weight, drink it twice a day. Wait until you're hungry to eat. Try to keep the portions down. Take a walk once in a while, and learn yoga to reduce stress. A lot of people find comfort in food - FATAL!

There's no need to make yourself miserable. It will take a while but Slim Fast will definitely take it off you.

Catty (30 more pounds to go) big grin
