Hi, I had severe pain few days ago in my whole left leg and was diagnosed as Sciatica. But yesterday when I visited a Neurologist, I was diagnosed with light IVDP (Inter Vertribular Disc Prolapse) that touch sciatic nerve.

Could anyone suggest any site with suitable physiotherapy for this?

I have had similar injuries that required me go to a Chiropractor. I had very good care and after several visits I was fully recovered.

Yoga is a very good form of physical conditioning that tones muscles, aligns muscles, nerves and bones and optimizes overall body tone and alignment.

Here is a site that discusses this in more depth.

You can also see if your physician can get a referral to a physical therapist (so that your insurance will cover perhaps partially the cost) to get some information on more conventional treatment and management of your condition.

Here are some articles on intervertebral disc prolapse: Link1, Link2, Link3.

Technically, sciatica is a "peripheral neuropathy" of the sciatic nerve running down the back of your leg. But a protruding lumbar disc can press on one or more of the nerve roots that join up along the lower spine to form the sciatic nerves, so the symptoms are often the same as true sciatica. Conservative treatment involves calming the inflammation. Surgical treatment aims to remove the cause of the nerve compression.

Chiropractic treatments have no rational basis and are considered quack medicine. Nonetheless they are usually harmless, and it's a fact that some patients (like Sherasi above) report feeling better. I agree with all her other advice.

Good luck & hope you feel better.
