What happens in a sauna depends on the sauna, so you really ought to call the place and ask them for specifics.
Some people wear bathing suits, some where towels, some go in nude. Depending on the temperature, you may be required to remove jewelry, but tattoos should be fine -unless it is brand new and you are still bleeding or seeping.
Some saunas have age restrictions, so that may bar you entirely.

As for pros of being in a sauna, it is good to leech your body of toxins every so often and that is what the sauna does, sweats them out. However, you have to be careful about staying in there too long, and also you have to know about your health and blood pressure before going in.

Call the sauna you are interested in. They will be able to explain things for you. And for a medical perspective, I will turn this over to Sherasi or someone else more knowledgeable than I.

It is recommended that you remove all metal items and jewelry when going into a sauna (including any piercings) because metal conducts heat and the items may burn you. Since you are not able to remove your braces prior to going into the sauna, this is obviously out of the question. Perhaps the place that you are considering going has some suggestions on what to do if you wish to use the sauna and are concerned about this. Maybe you can suck on ice??? Maybe since it is in your mouth, it may not get as hot? Perhaps you could even just give it a try and if you notice that your mouth starts to feel a little warm, you can leave.

I looked around at some information and none of the sites that talk about preparation for a sauna mentioned braces. It did indicate that if you have any piercings that are not removable, you should not use a sauna.
