My great-grandaughter, Taylor, is four. She has some kind of a skin disorder that causes her to break out in pimples. They start as tiny bumps then grow, fill and pop, just like regular zits. They're not on her face, but everywhere else. She says they don't hurt, but they do itch. According to her father, it's a virus. The doctor says there's nothing to be done for them. Anybody have any ideas?

How long has she been this way? Because my first thought was chicken pox. That is caused by a virus, causes red spots that raise and resemble pimples, fill and burst and crust over. Appears first on the back, chest and abdomen. But I would think the doc would definately have diagnosed it.

Or what about Impetigo? That is a bacterial infection of the skin that causes itching blisters.

This site has pictures of viral skin infections. Maybe you can find a picture that looks like what Taylor has.

Gosh, Georgia, it's so hard to tell. I looked at all the pictures but none really resembled what she has. There is no redness associated with these little pustules at all. I kept her yesterday, and it she didn't have very many. They do go away with Noxcema.

Somehow, her mother manages to find the goofiest doctors in the county, either that, or she doesn't report correctly what they tell her, which is quite likely. The doctor she had when Taylor was a baby told her not to bathe the baby but once a week or 10 days, and let me tell you, the kid stank like a fish 20 days dead.

No one else has these, so they are not chicken pox or anything else contagious. Taylor's Grandma had CP when she was a baby, and this doesn't look anything like it.

Well, maybe they are just pimples, huh?

Thank you, Georgia, my friend.

Well if she is still only being washed every week to 10 days I would't doubt that she has trapped oil in her pores which would form pimples. EEEEWWWWW...I don't know much about babies but I do know to wash them more than every 10 days. That's just nasty! Crazy doc!!

I agree that babies should not be washed every day since their skin needs those oils for protection wit rapid growth. Jaden gets her bath every 2 to 3 days depending on several factors. How hot it is and sticky she gets and how "gamey" she starts smelling.

I have noticed that she tends to get "gamey" as a female more rapidly then my sons did.

Hi Georgia, well, she's four now, and not too overly clean. But the bumps seem to be going away, so none have popped lately I don't think. The Noxzema seems to be working.

Thanks for helping.
