Has anyone heard of a weight management product called Suvaril? I saw an ad on an airline magazine and checked out the website.

Not much information really, so I was just wondering if anyone else has heard about it or knows anyone who may have tried it?

Thanks!

It's an over the counter "natural" weight loss dietary supplement. It's ingredients are:

Vitamin A (as retinyl palmitate)
Vitamin C (as ascorbic acid)
Vitamin D (as cholecalciferol)
Vitamin E (as dl-alpha-tocopheryl acetate) Thiamin (as thiamin HCl)
Riboflavin
Niacin (as niacinamide)
Vitamin B6 (as pyridoxine HCl)
Folate (as folic acid)
Vitamin B12 (as cyanocobalamin)
Biotin
Pantothenic acid (as D-calcium pantothenate) Chromium (as chromium dinicotinate glycinate)
Vanadium (as vanadium chelate)
Suvaril Proprietary Blend:
Green tea leaf extract (provides 50 mg caffeine and 90 mg epigallocatechin gallate), Panax ginseng root extract (10% ginsenosides), Banaba leaf extract (Lagerstroemia speciosa)(1% corosolic acid), and vanadium (as vanadium chelate) 716 mg *
* Daily value (DV) not established.
Other ingredients: dicalcium phosphate, microcrystalline cellulose, croscarmellose sodium, stearic acid, magnesium stearate, silica and film coat ingredients (hypromellose, hydroxypropyl cellulose, polyethylene glycol with colors to be determined).

I don't see any hidden forms of ephedra, ephedrine, etc. that can primarily be found in weight loss drugs. I do see Vanadium which is an element necessary for cellular metabolism. Natural forms are found in fish, olives, radishes, beans, whole grains, and vegetable oils. Banaba Leaf Extract is also in the ingredients. I'd be a little wary of this one. It is a medicinal plant used to lower blood sugar and to treat diabetes - it's action is similiar to insulin. However, one of the side effects of this plant is that it does control the appetite and may promote weight loss. But combine a hypoglycemic with caffeine from the green tea...and I think you are asking for trouble.
